Ping Spikes

Hello,

I am experiencing high ping spikes while using the internet, and I am unable to find a solution. I play online games, and I constantly experience problems with ping going from 20 to 400+, they usually occur every 5 min. It happens in every game I play. I tried restarting the internet many times, and many other things to solve this but I didn't get any results, which makes these games unplayable. The truth is that I don't know what to do and I just want my internet to be stable as before.

Hi there! There are many possible underlying causes for high ping, including network bandwidth, a weak signal, and even physical distance from the game's server. Have you tried a wired connection?

user_7olord, understood, thank you for already trying those initial steps, they're always the best ones you can take. Are you using a standalone/personal route along with your modem or gateway? Also, are you able to test if multiple devices are experiencing the issue? If it's just one device, what type of device are you using?

@XfinitySheila

FWIW. Greater distance from the server would result in a constant higher latency, not intermittent high spiking / jitter.

@XfinitySheila  I am having the same issue with high ping spikes. It's mostly in the afternoons and evenings. Gmail and some online game sites effected. How do I open a ticket?

It must have at least 20 characters.
