Ping Spikes

I have been experiencing occassional ping spikes. It will jump from 40 ms to 150~200 ms for a few minutes before returning to normal range. I have tried modem reset through xfinity live chat and nothing was solved. I read a post about noise somewhere in the connection but I can't be sure. Thank you!
