Paying for 2g but only getting 1.3g into the House

I have been with Xfinity for 20 years and had good service, until this morning.  I have been paying for 2g since they said it was available in my area, but speeds have been slow. Tech was out his morning to check wiring and their modem. He could not find anything wrong with wiring in my house or their modem. Went out to the box in the yard and tested it to see what the speeds are coming into the house.   Technician came back inside and said there is no 2g service coming into my house. The max speed out of the box is 1.3g. Total false advertising!  If there is no 2g service available in my area, then don't advertise it and have people sign up for it.  I should have stayed on the 1.3g plan. I guess I am asking too much for a little honesty.
