Pay for faster Internet?

I recently had serious issues with the Xfinity lines outside of my home. We went through weeks of trying to get someone out here to truely repair it and I believe that it's finally done. The odd thing is that the last repairman questioned my 8 connected devices for my internet speed. I pay for 300 mbps and live alone, have amazon echo devices and some wifi lights. I might leave my Kindle on sometimes as well. He made it sound like I should be paying for Gigabit instead of 300 mbps. Any thoughts? I think he's nuts.

Good evening, @marym26. Thanks for reaching our team regarding your internet speed concerns. Our Connect More speed is the ideal experience for:

  • Up to six online devices at a time.
  • Streaming and downloading TV shows, music, and photos as well as everyday internet needs.

After having the outside line fixed, are you still experiencing issues with your Internet?

I'm sorry for taking so long to answer. Yes, this morning I and my neighbors are getting about 50 mbps instead of 300.

No worries on how fast you are responding, marym26. If you are one WiFi, the speeds can fluctuate, depending on how far you are from the modem and if there is anything blocking it.
