Opinion on NG CAX80

I have 1 GB service but my Wi-Fi with supposedly the latest gateway is horrible.  I'm going to try my own system.

NG CAX80 is a recommended product per the latest list and should be a little future proof for faster speeds as they become available but - there were lots of adverse comments in previous years, very little comment at all that's recent. Download and Wi-Fi speed is most important to me and I'm not in Next Gen Speed tier area.

Anyone care to share recent experience with combo modem/router (gateway) units that are DOCSIS 3.1 and can handle future 2.0 Gbps+
