OpenDNS not working with Xfinity

I am trying to use OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) as my DNS server on the Netgear router as well as my laptop. While trying to dig (command used to query DNS records) www.google.com on my laptop terminal, I noticed that the dig command fails with the OpenDNS IP.

I then tried to do a traceroute to the OpenDNS Ip 208.67.222.222, it can be seen that the packets never reach the OpenDNS server through Xfinity ISP. How can you fix this?

The issue is similar to this one -- https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/opendns/62d2329e72213058e52a1f3b

"Can you please describe what you have done to resolve your service issue" -- What do you mean? What could I possibly do when your network is not redirecting the traffic to OpenDNS IP address -- as seen in the second picture. There is nothing I can do about this. IT'S YOU WHO NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!

My apologies for the misunderstanding, @KrisOfWA. We just wanted to know what troubleshooting steps you have already tried. Was OpenDNS working previously with the same setup, or are you trying to set it up for the first time? Have you made any changes to your network equipment or settings?
