Online poker location issues

Hello. I play a lot of online poker. Recently we upgraded our router and have been getting kicked off poker because cannot confirm my location or my location is not within my state. I presented Xfinity with my problem so they sent me another router. I'm still having the same issues. I've never had a problem until they took away out older router. Anyone experience this? If so, what did you do to fix the issue?

It can happen when you get a new IP address, or when Xfinity shuffles IP blocks around in their DHCP pools.  Geo Location is maintained (gleaned) by 3rd party data brokers and web sites.  The data goes into independently maintained databases, and people buy access for queries.  It's not something Xfinity controls.

You can rat out your location yourself to some of the more popular ones, and it may help.  It also takes a while to update information, and there's no guarantee the service you are using subscribes to one of these in the link below.

@EG put a list together of a few of the more popular ones here:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/router-indicating-wrong-geographic-location/61d0c361e41a4a46af42b441?commentId=61d0c608e41a4a46af42b459

You might have more luck contacting whatever site/service you are trying to subscribe to yourself, and see if you can fix it with their support, if they have it.  Maybe they can tell you which service they use as well and save you some trouble guessing.
