Ongoing XB8 Gateway Network Instability – Request for Advanced Technical Review
Hello,
I’m requesting assistance with an unresolved network issue involving an Xfinity XB8 gateway that has persisted across multiple support interactions and technician visits.
The problem is reproducible across multiple devices (Mac and Windows) and appears to be network-level rather than device-specific:
• Wired Ethernet connections are consistently stable
• WiFi connectivity is intermittent and affects different devices at different times
• Some sessions connect but fail to resolve or route traffic properly
• We’ve observed behavior consistent with DHCP irregularities and/or DNS resolution failures (including delayed email delivery and selective website access issues)
Troubleshooting already completed:
• Gateway replacement (XB8)
• Multiple technician visits
• Full resets and reconfiguration
• DNS manually set to Google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
• Issue confirmed across multiple independent devices and operating systems
The issue does not occur when connecting to a neighboring Xfinity network, which suggests the problem is isolated to this gateway or its configuration/firmware.
At this point, I’m requesting escalation to advanced technical support or engineering for deeper analysis of gateway behavior (DHCP, DNS handling, or firmware stability).
I’m also open to recommended alternatives (e.g., bridge mode configuration or different hardware) if that is the appropriate resolution path.
Thank you for your help in getting this resolved.
Best regards,
