On a new Xfinity Gig plan but upload speed capped at 40Mbps using Hitron CODA56

I'm on the Xfinity Gig plan. According to the plan, my upload is supposed to be up to 1Gbps. I'm still seeing 40Mbps upload speed. Searching through this forum, I'm assuming Xfinity needs to send some "update instructions" to my modem so the upload speed can be unlocked?

I'm not aware of any Comcast cable plans supporting 1Gbps upload.  Fiber can, but not cable.  On segments that have been upgraded to DOCSIS 3.1 upload you can get a few hundred Mbps upload.  I'm getting around 350Mbps up, and a bit over 2Gbps down.  40Mbps up sounds like your segment hasn't been upgraded yet.  Mine has.  A CODA56 supports DOCSIS 3.1 upload, but Comcast's end has to be upgraded too.  40 up is the most you'd get on segments that haven't been upgraded.
