Older iPad won't connect to Xb-8

My older iPad would connect with the XB-7 but won't connect with my XB-8. My new iPad and Android devices connect. Anything I van do?

I am sorry to hear about the trouble connecting your older iPad to your new gateway. Are you able to see your in-home network listed in available networks on the older iPad, or are you not able to see the network at all?

@XfinityElizabethA​ able to see the network and all is good other than the older iPads. Will not connect after entering password. Worked fine with old router.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

I’m having the same issue. I just got the XB8 and now older iPads can’t connect to the same network.

I’m having the same issue. I can see the network but once password is entered, it will not connect.

@saydrum27​  the same here. I think the XB8 doesn’t work with older devices.

Hi, @

Have you tried to connect to both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz wifi bands? One of them should connect for sure. 

I no longer work for Comcast.

For my older 2nd Gen iPad to connect to the XB8 had to change to WPA2 Security Mode within the Xfinity App under connect - edit wifi settings.
