Older Alexa devices won’t connect to new Xfinity router

I recently upgraded to Xfinity x7 router, I was previously using my own equipment. Upon upgrading I have been unable to connect my older Alexa devices. My newest device connected with no issues.

I receive a message on the Alexa app saying my wifi is “captive portal”. Is there a way to disable this setting?

Have you tried unplugging those Alexa devices and plug them back in? Are you connecting to your in home WiFi network, and NOT the Xfinity WiFi hotspot?

@DreamSayerZ I habe tried both, with no luck. My two newer devices connected easily.

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_ccdc02. I would be happy to check on that connection issue from here. Could you send me a direct message with the full name and complete address on the account?

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://comca.st/3wBPtRX

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
