not getting the speeds I paid for
I have been with xfinity / comcast for years with acceptable internet service. We pay for 1200 Mbps speeds and used to get someone north of 1000Mbps speeds for downloads. We recently decided that we didn't need or want cable TV any more. As soon as we dropped our cable tv (and kept the same data rates for internet) out available download maximum data speed has never gone higher than 495Mbps. I continue to check the upload and down load speeds using both the xfinity speed test and others on a regular cadence. It doesn't matter when I test the speed (and I have tried almost every time (on the hour) every day. This has been going on for months now.
The connection I am testing is hard wired to the modem, the modem is the same I have been using for several years and IS AN APPROVED Comcast modem.
I want to know what it is going to take to get xfinity to recognize there is a problem or they are speed limiting me while I am paying for a faster speed. I went in to the local xfinity store and they were of no help.
In summary, nothing has changed except we dropped our cable TV.

Hey there @user_4jqqhc, thank you for taking the time to create this post and for providing details to let me know what you need. I'd love a chance to work with you and make sure your connection is performing as it should be. Are you seeing these slow speeds with all devices or your hardwired connection only? Also, are you using a standalone router along with your modem?

I sm having the same issue. I used to get my paid for speeds now after their recent change the modem I got from them and the modem I purchased all will not go over 300 mb. I used to have 1 gig then the updates it to 2 gig and from then I have horrible speeds and dropped connections. My modem is a Assis S33 and I have Deco router all will handle speeds up to 10 gigs.
