Not getting close to advertised download speeds

We pay for 2100 Mbps download speed, the Xfinity speed test shows between 800 and 900 Mbps download speeds over Ethernet, and actual practical use of my download speed never exceeds 400 Mbps, generally averaging between 200 and 300 most of the time.

I've already contacted support to try and lower the speed we pay for the more closely match what we're actually getting, but lowering our plan's speed *raises* our monthly payment, which is just astronomically stupid. In what universe would I want to pay extra for slower speed, or otherwise expect a certain speed and be given something completely different? Nothing about this is right, and if I had the ability to switch providers, I'd do so in a heartbeat.

Good afternoon @Raisopod. Thanks for testing out your speeds on an ethernet connection. Can you confirm what type of device you used to run the test? What about the other devices where you are seeing speed issues, are they over Wi-Fi or ethernet?

It's both over Wifi and ethernet. The device that matters the most is my custom built home PC, which is connected via ethernet with a 3 foot long ethernet cable, and also has a Wifi adapter capable of connecting to 6E connections. Other devices that are not seeing advertised speeds are our phones and laptops, which are all connected via Wifi through our Xfinity Gateway's 6E Wifi signal.

Raisopod let's get your speeds where they need to be, firstly, were you previously getting higher speeds but not noticing they are lower or have you never received the higher speeds your plan includes?
