Not getting 200mpbs upload speed promised in plan.

My upload speed is capped at about 40mpbs, but the plan says it can go up to 200. Xfinity recently did a bunch of work in the area I live in a couple of months ago, and the plan got updated. I'm trying to figure out why I haven't been getting the speeds I was promised. My modem is the XB7. I'm aware that XB8 is a thing but both should be able to do 200 upload.

Greetings, @user_t162mz!  I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about our Next Generation network upgrades. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

If your neighborhood received the mid-split upgrade two months ago, you should be eligible for our Next Generation upload speeds. In order to qualify, you will need to have xFi Complete with an XB6, XB7, or XB8 Gateway, and subscribe to a current internet speed tier, such as Connect, Connect More, Fast, Superfast, Gigabit, or Gigabit Extra.

We know you have a compatible modem, but we may need to make sure your account meets the other requirements. If everything else is in place, we can to schedule a free technician visit to make sure there are no passive elements blocking the new OFDMA frequencies from reaching your modem.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Direct Message, please click on the “Direct Message” icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon, then type or select "Xfinity Support". Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send your message and initiate a live session.

@XfinityJamesC It says xFi Complete isn't required anymore, and I already currently have gigabit, I get about 1200 down, 40 up, but not the 200 up

@XfinityJamesC I have super fast internet plan which is 800 download and has been upgraded to 100 mbps upload which I do not get because I own my own Comcast approved modem router. Xfinity will not give me the upgrade speed because I do not pay to have Xfinity modems.

@user_csjimm We have a listing of customer owned modems that can work with our infrastructure and provide the upgraded upload speeds. Please review options here at the hyperlink under Eligibility and the chart of some of the listings.

Wait, so we can get over 40 upload? I pay for up to 1200, never get more than 900, and upload is 35-40

Hey there, @hevy! That is a great question, and if your location has been fully upgraded to our Next Generation. You will receive communication if that has been started, and once completed. Have you received any email communication regarding work being completed in the area?
