Not assigning IPv4 address

We've recently booted up our Xbox 360, but we cannot connect to the network. I go into the Gateway and notice that, while it is connected, it is not assigning an IPv4 address to this device. Looking into the network configuration on the Xbox, it's showing an IP Address of 169.254.x.x., which a Google search tells me that the DHCP server is not reachable. Therefore, we cannot connect to the internet.

I have tried to assign a static IP to the device, with no luck.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Hello, @user_6cc8ec. I just wanted to check in! I see you're working with EG, were you able to attempt the steps recommended by hardwiring directly to the modem?

I no longer work for Comcast.

O/k. For a test, If you connect it hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable does it have the same problem ?

Change 2.4GHz wifi setting from g,n to b,g,n and it should do the trick for you. I scoured the web for like 4hrs trying to find this solution and eventually came across a sharp redditor who provided the answer. Good luck, hope it works for ya and anyone else!!
