Non stop packet loss when gaming

I have been experiencing nonstop packet loss while gaming and streaming for weeks now. I have restarted the modem, upgraded to a new modem, updated my drivers, and had a technician come out twice to check the connection. Both times, I was told that everything was good on their end and that they weren’t seeing any packet loss.

However, when I showed the technician the packet loss I was experiencing, I was told there was nothing they could do. I don’t know if this is related to maintenance or updates being done in the area, but the issue has been unbearable and has been going on for weeks. I would really appreciate it if this could be investigated further and resolved.

Hello,

I live in the Greenwood, Indiana area and have been experiencing 30 second to 3 minute pauses, and complete drops since July 2026. Up to that point, my 800mbs service was working without issues!! As in your case, I have had technicians out twice and they state that unless they can actually be there when there is a drop, there is nothing they can do!!! They state, "Well, you have great signal...we don't see an issue." I went ahead and updated to the newest Xfinity modem and upgraded my service to the 1gb service per their recommendations. Still have the same issues.

  • I asked, "Is Xfinity throttling my service?" They answer, "No."
  • I asked, "Is there a bandwidth issue?" They said, "No, everything is good."

This is very frustrating and Xfinity isn't putting any real effort into finding the issue.  BTW, if you look up information on Comcast, you will see they are loosing customers very quickly. Perhaps this is an indication that their network is no longer viable. As for me, I think it may be time for a gateway change... Good luck!
