No username/password option for Arris SB8200?

Hi all,

I just bought a new SB8200 from Amazon and performed a factory reset. When I access the modem remotely I'm not prompted for any login credentials and I see no options to add them. According to Arris I should be prompted for a username and password (https://arris.secure.force.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SB8200-Web-Manager-Access).

On my older Arris SB6190 I was able to assign a username and password for security.

Any idea on what might be going on?

Thanks.

No mention of the user name or password in the documentation.  I had to call support and we reset the modem a dozen times to be able to use the default user name and pw.  None of that worked,  I finially I saw Josh4trunks on here googled it and determined the last 8 digs of the SN works as the pw.  Even the Arris technicican did not know this.  Crazy.

Well should have googled a bit more before posting, lol.

Last 8 digits of my serial number worked!

The FW to my SB8200 modem did get updated and now requires a password to access the status page.  To log into the SB8200, I first had to use the default Arris User/Password (i.e. enter: admin / password).  Then the SB8200 prompted me to change the password with strong password rules.

With this new FW (version: AB01.01.009.44_040220_183.0A.NSH), I am seeing my modem randomly have internet drops which is causing work and household productivity issues. Arris and Xfinity need to resolve this modem network drop issue ASAP!
