No speed improvement after upgrading to CODA56 from MB8600
I've been using a MB8600 modem for several years. I recently received an email from Xfinity saying "You can enjoy faster upload speeds with your current Xfinity Internet plan....Your current internet equipment is unable to deliver these faster speeds" with a list of compatible upgrade modems, including the Coda56.
My plan before this email was the 1.2 Mbps plan and my speeds before this email with a direct connect to the modem were pretty consistently 940 Mbps down, 41.0 Mbps up.
I installed the modem and self provisioned it through the iphone xfinity app.
After the upgrade, I am seeing identical speeds, 40 Mbps down, 41.0 Mbps up. Rebooting modem results in no change. Does my modem need to be re-provisioned from xfinity?
Furthermore, after provisioning the modem, I received an a email saying "Your updated service
order is confirmed" now showing a gigabit X2 plan at an increased rate, which I did not request.
So after Xfinity's email:
1. I purchased a new modem for $150
2. Unrequested, I was bumped from 1.2 Mbps to 2Mbps at a higher monthly rate
3. And am still receiving the identical upload and download rates.
Any suggestions or help?
