No signal from coax

Just got my Xfi today and was trying to set it up. First the white light never turned on, it was solid orange then flashing orange. I am aware this usually means that there is no Internet connection to the unit, but also that it could mean there is a firmware update so let it go for about 30 minutes and it was still flashing the orange light.

I have 2 coax cables in my house and I tried both and neither worked. So I found my splitter outside and tried bypassing the splitter and plugging the main coax cable to the Xfi and it didn't work. So then thinking maybe the poorly install cable may be bad, I opened up the box where the main cable comes out of the ground for the house and plugged it in there and tried setting up but still got the orange flashing light.

So what are my options here? Is there something I'm missing that's obvious or do I need to call someone out? Who would I even call if it's an issue with the cable in the ground and not one that is in the house?

Not super familiar with this stuff just looking for where to go from here.

Consider getting a Comcast tech out to investigate (1-800-comcast). The other end of the line may have been disconnected from the live Comcast feed at the tap on the pole / pedestal so you may need a tech to reconnect it for you.

Hello, @basedfd! Thank you for all of the steps that you took to try and get the modem working. Most times with an orange light, it is the wiring, and a visit is needed. We would be happy to take a look and set that up if needed.
