no internet IP address to RT-BE86U router

I recently installed a

NETGEAR Nighthawk CM2050V

ASUS-RT-BE86U (ROUTER-WIFI)

the router will provide internet connectivity to my directly connected PC, but not the ASUS router

do I need to have the modem re-provisioned to allow it to connect to the router?

can I fix this by having the router clone the MAC ADDRESS on my computer to connect to Xfinity network?

the problem is fixed, I called the Xfinity help-desk, and the technician was able to re-provision the modem to work with the router, so now I can connect through the router to comcast and the internet beyond

FWIW, provisioning has nothing to do with anything connected to the LAN side of a modem. When they remotely restarted your modem after provisioning it is what worked.
