No internet access

My wifi has been saying its connected with no internet access for at least a week now. I have a wifi extender downstairs since my modem is upstairs, and the network created from the extender has full access, but my regular wifi has no internet access. I've done all the troubleshooting and restarted the gateway multiple times and nothing works. It may be ok for a few minutes after a restart but then goes back to no internet access. My modem is 5 years old. Could it need updated? I work from home and need full internet access

user_cpnhhy Thank you so much for stopping in for help with your connection issues. It has been a few days since your post. Were you able to get assistance with your connection issues?

If not, have you checked whether Bridge mode is enabled on your modem? If just using the extender to pull the wifi around the house, it can cause some issues from time to time.

@XfinityAmandaB no, my issue has not been resolved. How would I check for bridge mode? I've never heard of that

Bridge mode can be confusing if you are not familiar with it.

To check if Bridge Mode is active on your Xfinity Wireless Gateway, follow these steps:

  1. Connect a device to your home network.
  2. Open a web browser and go to the Admin Tool at http://10.0.0.1.
  3. Log in using the default username (admin) and the password found on the gateway's sticker.
  4. From the left-hand column, select **Gateway > At a Glance**.
  5. Look for the **Bridge Mode** status; it will indicate whether it is enabled or disabled.
