New Xfinity Router connecting to all devices in-home except for Micrsoft Surface Pro 6 (windows 11)....

Replaced an old Xfinity gateway (router) with a new Xfinity gateway (router) inside of my home and my Microsoft Surface 6 Pro (personal device) does not connect to the new gateway however, it does show it is “Connected and Secured” but there is no connection.  All other devices, 26 of them, in the home connect correctly to the new Xfinity gateway (router) except for the Microsoft Surface 6 Pro.

The Microsoft Surface 6 Pro seemingly does not like the new Xfinity gateway (router), after 3-years of flawless internet connectivity with the old Xfinity gateway (router), and I need to find a solution to this problem.  The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 will, however, connect to my hotspot (in the home) and OTHER wifi connections (outside of the home) but not the new Xfinity gateway (router).

I have reset factory settings on both the XFINITY gateway (router) and the Microsoft Surface 6 Pro and have still not found a solution.  I have used the command prompt and flushed, register, release, renewed both the cache and IP address and still no solution.  I have downloaded new drivers and firmware and still no solution.  I have completed a network reset and still no solution.  I have run the network driver troubleshooting option and still no solution. I have changed wifi names on the gateway (router) from HOMEWIFI to HOME WIFI and still no solution.  I have worked with Microsoft and escalated to Level 2 support and still no solution.

I need help from Comcast-Xfinity-Support to solve the problem.

BTW: I am a subscriber to the Xfinity Gigabit Internet Plan (Download speeds: up to 1200 Mbps | Upload speeds: up to 35 Mbps); utilizing the new WHITE Xfinity gateway (router).

Please help.

Extremely.  I ended up purchasing a j5create which allowed me to run a CAT5 cable between the MS Surface and Xfinity router.

This is a classic consumer stuck in the middle of 2-big company's problem.

Xfinity saying, "clearly it is the MS product because everything else connects and works," while MS is saying, "given your Surface connects to other wifi networks and even allows your Apple device to act as a hotspot, at home and elsewhere, and it works this must be a Xfinity problem."

I am having the same problem with my windows 11 machine and the new xfinity router. Customer support totally wasted my time. I spent hours with them and they said it was my computer but I can connect to my phone hotspot and an open wifi that we have in our building. all my older macines work perfectly fine. Just the windows 11 machine. There needs to be an update for these router/modems! I am ready to go buy my own, ugh!

@user_a67200 Good afternoon! Thank you for reaching out to our Community Forums Team for assistance in getting connected! I know how important it is to be able to stay connected. Before we begin troubleshooting, have you tried to manually add your computer through the Xfinity App, https://comca.st/3p2E6ho? If so, did you receive any error messages when trying to add your device? I look forward to working with you today!

I too have the same problem as others have listed on this thread. Totally frustrated with Xfinity support unable to get resolution. I have spoken to them several times with no success. Even the suggestion to go through the app is not valid.

I have worked with Micro Center (the store that sold the laptop) and they are well versed in hardware. They too direct me back to Xfinity Comcast.  The laptop works with all other connections except my home office based wifit via Xfinity Comcast.

I need help from Comcast-Xfinity-Support to solve the problem.

Greetings, @user_bd5cf2136! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues connecting your device, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

It sounds like you have already done quite a bit of troubleshooting on this issue, so I can definitely understand how frustrating this must be for you. Can you tell me a little more about what's happening with your Surface? Are you able to see and connect to the wireless network, but not able to access the internet, or are you unable to connect to your network at all?

I am having the same problem and spoke to xfinity with no luck. I am able to see the network on my surface pro 3 but not able to connect to it. Tried resetting modem to factory settings, reinstalled windows on surface etc but no luck. I am able to connect to any other network - hotspot, public Wi-Fi, corp Wi-Fi etc.. it’s an issue with XB8 modem I believe. Super frustrating

Greetings, @Vikram1! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your modem, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

There is a known issue with some models of the Surface Pro 7+. The affected models contain the Intel AX210 WiFi based client. Surface Pro models with the Intel AX201 based chipset don't seem to be experiencing this issue, according to most reports.

If you could send our team a private message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Private Message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, and then type or select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a live session.

Please be aware, since this post is on a relatively old thread from June 1st, the chat icon may no longer be available. If that is the case, please create a new post describing the issue you are having, and the equipment involved, and we will reach out to you from there.

So I am still unable to connect my Surface. I had two internet streaming boxes which had the same issue. The manufacturer sent me 2 replacements and now works fine. It has someting to do with Android and Microsoft operating systems but same as you, noone can help me. My surface is basically a dust collector now. I tried most of what you did including changing wifi passwords and names with no difference

I am having this same issue. Replaced the older modem with a new white modem and my older surface no longer can connect to the wifi. Worked flawlessly with the old modem's wifi. Every other device I have including many IoT devices connect perfectly. Very Frustrating. The technical support does not have any answers for me that work.

Based on my discussions with a Network Engineer from my employer, he  would say that the modem has a wifi6 implementation that older devices cannot correctly connect to. I guess this is fairly common for older devices and newer wifi6 hardware. Microsoft may not even be able to fix this and even if they could these devices are well past that type of support.

Edit: Have not tried this yet, but the same engineer said that these older surface devices cannot correctly connect to the WPA3 networks (which the new Xfinity modes have) this is separate from wifi6, basically better security, but you could try to see if you could enable WPA2 only, but he suggested this was not worth the lesser security and we may not even have this ability with this modem. He suggested getter a newer device. Hope this helps.

I had this problem with my Surface 3. What fixed my problem was to rename my new modem with a completely new modem/network name
