New XB8 Router and HP Wifi Printer

I'm having trouble connecting my HP Laserjet Pro 200 to my new router.  All settings transferred over from the old router.  Same SSID which was on the XB7.  The old router used the same SSID for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.  Signal is strong and printer can see the SSID, but fails to connect.  Anyone have a solution for this?

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 names and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the printer with the new 2.4 SSID (broadcast name) and password.

@jrabbo. Hey! Thank you for reaching out to the Comcast Digital Care Team via our Xfinity Forums! Your time and patience are greatly appreciated.

Just like EG mentioned above. Have you tried separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands?

Associate the devices with the 2.4 or the 5.0 (whichever one works) band's SSID (broadcast name) and password. The printer should work on the 2.4 GHz band.

I am having the same problem!  Have spent hours trying to find a solution.  Aggravating as the solutions given below do not apply to the new XB8 Gateway ( Router) as it is supposed to connect automatically so the Administrative tool nor the Xfinity XFI app work.  You can not separate the 2.4 band from the 5.0.

Curious as to whether or not you had any luck with that info that I gave you ?

I'm having the exact same problem. Our new Xfinity router essentially made my printer inoperable. It's been over two months now and I've had three technicians over to fix it, and the last two said that it's basically unfixable. While my printer (an Epson Workforce 630) still picks up the WiFi signal without a problem, I cannot print. Every time I do, I receive a "Filter failed" message. Even though I installed the newest drivers for my printer. Enormously frustrating. Especially since the printer was a beast that NEVER gave me problems until Xfinity installed the new router. As far as I'm concerned, Xfinity broke it and should fix it. I hate that I may have to buy a new printer when nothing is wrong with it and Xfinity made it inoperable.

The XB8 router's authentication type is set to WPA3 by default. Change it to WPA2. This is the highest level of authentication my Officejet Pro 8600 understands. After making this change the WPS worked just fine.

The only way I believe is to call in to a tech and have them turn off the "AX" antenna.
And then split the networks 2.4 and 5ghz through the xfinity app (which some printers require just 2.4 to work) if needed.  Which is the only way I think you can get it to work.  I have an XB8 and I have the same issue. But I haven't gotten around to calling in just yet. If that doesn't work I would recommend swapping back to an XB7 until they iron out the bugs..
