New router and ISP’s DGCP not connected

@XfinityChe can you help? I got a new wifi router ASUS RT-AX82U and can not get it to connect to my working modem Arris Surfboard SB6183. Modem is working and has been for years. Modem is liking to my xfinity account. How can I get the DHCP to link to my new wifi router?

Have you power cycled the 6183 after connecting that router to it ?

Hi @Kodiak002 I apologize as information is limited when it comes to troubleshooting   steps for a personally bought modem and router. Were you able to access your routers address and  then change the DHCP settings? Has the DHCP been manually enabled?

DHCP is typically enabled by default.
