New (not) modem - xfinity scam?

Xfinity said I was due for a new modem. 

The one they sent me is an Arris (out of business for years), copyright 2015 and is just like the one I had before the one I currently have.  this seems to be a scam to make customers think they are getting better when they are not.

We do typically send out notices to update the modems as some of the devices get phased out. I would like to look into the fully with you to see the details of the order and ensure you have the most updated device to your current speed.
