New modem

I was offered a new modem update through Xfinity last week. Does anyone know if I will be charged extra for this each month? Is this a new 10g modem?

Hello, @user_k84ja7. Thanks for reaching out to us over our Community Forums. All of our Xfinity Gateways have the same rental rate, or xFi Complete rate each month. By swapping out your current Xfinity Gateway for a newer one you should not see an increase in cost each month.

@XfinityMartyR​ Is it the 10g modem?  I had an online tech support person tell me to take it back since our current modem was working better and it would cost more and then we had someone at the actual store say we needed it for the extra bandwith.  We returned it as I refuse to pay even more, but not sure which answer was even correct.
