new modem

I'm trying to re-establish my home wi-fi on my newly-installed XFSETUP modem. When I enter the modem's name, I'm asked for the security key which is apparently not the same as the password. Where do I find the security key?

Does https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/view-change-wifi-password help?

If the password on the back of the modem doesn't work as the required security key, why would a changed password work?

If the security key / password shown on the label doesn't work, it has been changed (their setup process sometimes prompts you to do this) and you need to use the new one. If you can't work out what it is and the website posted above doesn't help, you'd have to reset the gateway to factory defaults -- see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/troubleshooting-your-cable-modem. Then the SSID and password on the label should work.
