New modem won't connect with Tesla in garage.

Xfinity recently encouraged me to upgrade to a newer modem/router. I did that, and now I find that the new modem/router won't reliably connect with the Tesla in my garage. My old modem was connecting reliably, but I've returned that equipment. I would like Xfinity to provide me with an xFi pod so that I can connect with the Tesla.
