New modem geolocation issues
Got a new modem today. Problem is, it is not locating me correctly.
I have apps that I use that require geolocation. They cannot be used unless the location is verified. Everything worked fine until the modem got switched today.
On my iphone, it says my location cannot be verified. Same thing on my PC.
Over 2 hours on the phone with comcast, and after sending a reset signal to my modem multiple times to no avail, the only solution I was offered was to wait several days for another new modem.
Geolocation works just fine on my phone when I walk down the road to an area outside of my wi-fi. Problem is, I can't keep walking away that far to use the app! I tried turning off the wi-fi on my phone, but that doesn't work either as it's required to be on.
("turning on wi-fi will help improve location services" I always see - NOT in this case! It makes it worse!!)
I tried the company that requires geolocation. The only semi-useful information I got from them is that the agent said they have heard of issues with new modems, but they eventually resolve themselves.
I don't want to have to walk down the road, and I don't want to wait several more days for a modem that might do the same thing.
