New Fiber installation process on an existing home
Question on the installation options/steps for the Xfinity fiber (not the traditional DOCSIS over Coax) installation. My understanding is the fiber line from the road will connect to a demarcation box. The demarcation box converts the fiber signal to ethernet and an ethernet wire from inside the house is connected to the demarcation box on the outside of the house. The ethernet inside the house connects to the ONT which will provide the wireless signal throughout the house.
Is a power source required outside the house for the demarcation box or the signal converter that converts the fiber signal to ethernet? Or is the only power source that is required will be for the ONT which is inside the house?
Trying to understand the infrastructure needs inside and outside the house for the installation. Is an ethernet cable from inside to outside enough or should I run a fiber wire form inside to outside that connects from the demarcation box to the ONT?
Any general links to installation steps suggestions would be appreciated.
