Hello @mcarol73, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum and we would be happy to help. To remove any device from the Devices Not Connected list:

  1. Tapping on the device.
  2. Tap Device Details.
  3. Select Forget Device.

This will remove the device from your devices list and unassign it from the person it was associated with, if applicable. It'll also permanently delete all historical network activity of this device. If the device reconnects to your home network, it will appear as a new device.

Pause and unpause devices

Pausing a device blocks it from accessing the internet when connected to your home network. In-progress activity might not stop immediately. Access to local network devices (like printers) and connections that use cellular data or other WiFi networks won't be paused.

To pause a device:

  1. Select the device from WiFi.
  2. Select Pause Device.
    • You can pause the device(s) for a specific amount of time (for example, 30 minutes, one hour or two hours) or indefinitely until you choose to unpause.

Notes:

  • The pause function only pauses WiFi access on your home network and doesn't impact access to cellular data, a public Xfinity WiFi hotspot or other available WiFi networks.
  • When attempting to access the internet on a paused device, you'll see the device's default message that the site cannot be reached or that it isn't connected to the internet.

What about an unknown connected device that has no option to disconnect and since I can’t access it or find said device, I can’t disconnect it to hopefully open the option to forget it. Have had on “pause until I unpause” for 2 months because I don’t have patience to reconnect 30+ devices all because I changed the password. Should be able to forget regardless of connection or status!

user_2c0816 Good morning, and Happy Saturday! We appreciate you reaching out to our Community Forums Team for assistance with your device connection and rules. I'm happy to help you get this ironed out today. Are you able to see what type of device it is? I'm assuming the only spot it's coming up at, is the "Not Connected" section, correct?

It is connected and was automatically labeled unknown light of some sort. I’ve had it paused for quite a while and can’t get rid of it

Hello, @user_2c0816

Do you by chance have any smart home devices that may be this unknown item? Have you followed these steps to remove this device? https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/manage-wifi-devices-my-account
