New Device Connected in the middle of the Night??
I have been an Xfinity customer for a long but lately, I am not experiencing the awesomeness I used to experience a couple of years ago. I pay for high speed (up to 400 Mbps), use only one-two device, recently paid additional to get XFI Pod, and yet the connectivity and speed are horrible. Yesterday my Internet stopped working and I rebooted the router and refreshed wifi connection etc but I gave up. Then I see a notification from Xfinity saying "New Device Connected" ARRIS just connected to your home network for the first time. Name and Assign it for more control". This is what I noticed when I clicked on my Wi-Fi Network:
My Wi-Fi network appears to be secure but it says "Weak Security". It then asks me to configure the router to use WPA2 (AES or WPA3 type). I have no idea what is this and why it happened and how can I fix it?
This is very annoying and I want to make sure I bring it to your attention before making the switch. What is going on?
Can anyone explain what is going on?

FYI, I did not connect any new devices. All I have is a gateway modem and XFI Pod.

You should connect to WPA2. Log into your account via the Xfinity website or app and click on 'edit wifi'. There is an option to pick WPA2 or open. Choose WPA2, and at present time that should be enough for your iPhone to no longer state 'weak security'. To add further security, you can decline to broadcast the network name as well.
That said, some devices that require peer to peer like speakers or home security systems, may require WPA3, which is not available from Xfinity yet and there does not appear to be a release data. Hopefully its is soon, since many new phones and hardware products are requiring it.

Thank you so much for your response. I tried the Xfinity App/website, but the interface is very different than your screenshot and I don't see any option to change that security setting.
I even tried the gateway router admin link such as http://10.0.0.1/. Interestingly there also all those settings are greyed out, which means I cant change it.
