New Chromecast w/google TV, Amazon Prime Video, and xfinity internet

I've been dealing with this for a while and this has come down to an xfinity/Comcast problem and I can't solve it myself.

Google sent me one of their shiny new Chromecast with Google TV devices a little more than a month ago. Brand new device, right? It works GREAT, except for one little hiccup.

The Amazon prime app won't play any content. The app installs, seems to run, lets me add things to my watchlist all that, but when I go to play anything, shows, movies, trailers, anything, nothing will play. 

But here's the hiccup, if I connect to any network besides my home xfinity network, it will play. 

All the other apps will play content just fine. It's only the Amazon app. 

And it's only when I'm connected to my home xfi router that it won't play content. If I use my phone as a hotspot, it will play. If I connect to my neighbor's wifi (with their permission, as a test, they have CenturyLink) it works. 

The device is set to user "guest" on my network, so it's not being limited by any parental controls or anything.

Can anyone help me with this, please?

I found this on Amazon:

Issues Watching a Prime Video Channel on My Comcast Xfinity, Cox Contour or Dish Network Device

Some Prime Video Channels cannot be subscribed to or watched on selected cable and satellite set top boxes.

  • If you have a Comcast X1 Xfinity, Cox Contour, or Dish Network device, you are unable to subscribe to for or watch CBS All Access, HBO or Cinemax via Prime Video Channels. You may subscribe to, and watch these channels via any other supported device.
  • If you have a Cox Contour device, you are unable to subscribe to HBO or Cinemax via Prime Video Channels. However, if you already have a subscription to these Prime Video Channels, you may watch these Channels through these devices.

I have the same issue.

I can use Prime Video on my Samsung TV app and any IPad or phone using Xfinity home network but not on the Chronecast with Google TV.

 

i agree this is only a problem with the combination of Xfinity and Chromecast with Google TV.

 

I am at a loss of where to go from here I have tried clearing the data,  uninstalling the app and restarting Chromecast and nothing works.

I hard reset my modem. Deleted and reinstalled the Amazon Prime Video app on Chromecast with Google TV.

The Prime app is currently working.
