Network confusion

Hello

I recently had xfinity install a landline and internet service. I had a router they were able to connect my internet to. However I had to use their modem (until I can get one of my own) to connect the landline. In doing this there are now two WiFi networks in the house one for phone and one for internet. This is causing issue with the smart TVs in the house and they are not saving the WiFi for the internet only. Is there a way if I buy a modem and router combo to fix this where the home can again have one WiFi name? Or at least make it so the TVs don’t locate the WiFi for the landline? It’s becoming frustrating to constantly get the WiFi back on every time I turn in the TVs

Greetings, @user_3c8409! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about these WiFi issues. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

You can definitely have connection issues with two separate networks running in the same house. The best way to resolve these conflicts would be to disable the WiFi signal on the modem you are using for your landline. You should be able to do this through the Xfinity app by logging in to your modem and placing it in bridge mode. You can find more details about how to do that here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode
