Netgear Router AC2400 DHCP lease renews for only 1-2 hrs and internet connection drops briefly every time

Every 1-2 hrs when DHCP renews we lose internet connectivity briefly and it is enough to disrupt apps/games/streaming sometimes to the annoyance of everyone in my family.  This has been happing for months, I don't recall when it started but it hasn't always been this way.  Nothing has changed on my end (same router, cable modem, firmwares on each are up to date, haven't changed settings, etc).  Anything I can do on my end or convince xfinity something is wrong on theirs?  A tech might be visiting to take a look, but honestly Xfinity knows enough about my end and their end and these DHCP issues others have had historically to likely know what is going on I'd have to assume.  I love "The IT Crowd" as just as everyone else so yes I've powered it all off and back on to no avail...  Cable modem and router show no errors, just the DHCP lease issues and dropped connections for every device in our home network every time it renews.
