As long as it is placed in to bridge mode as other's have mentioned. Here's how;

I am considering purchasing an Orbi RBK 752 to expand the WiFi coverage in my house. I have the Xfinity Gateway 1200 gig. How close does the Orbi modem need to be to the Gsteway? Does it have to be plugged into the Gateway? Could both of them be on different floors of the house?
