netgear CM2050V

does anyone know if the Netgear CM2050V will work with xfinity now?  I know it did not before but now will it?  I can not seem to find if xfinity or netgear found the problem and fixed it so can I get some help on this?

The CM2050V is compatible with their Internet and home phone services, but is still not compatible with the higher upload speeds they introduced last year.

See the "Next Gen" list at the top of the "All Compatible Devices" link near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices (at the moment it points to https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2024.09.18%20Full%20List%20of%20Compatible%20Devices.pdf, but this changes from time to time).

Comcast could make all of this much simpler and clearer, but they have chosen not to do so.

Thanks bud, I tried to use this cable modem before since Xfinity is my only ISP provider and it did not work at all in 2023, I have rented a cable modem for 20 years and that comes out to $6000 in rental fees so far, but before it would not work what so ever with Xfinity and had to go back to their cable modem, yes I need the phone line and this is the only option out there

Currently Xfinity recommended I update my modem to the Newtgear  CM2050V to get to use my plans speed.

They did not say if it could be used without voice, which I don't need.

It can. If you have Voice service, you have to have a voice capable ("eMTA" or "telephony") modem. But you don't have to subscribe to Voice service just because you have a voice capable modem.

I have to have voice because I am a type 1 diabetic and sometimes my blood sugar gets to low that my wife will have to dial 911 for help and it pin points our location better then a cell phone will hitting the cell towers, so we have to have voice for that possibility
