Netgear CM2050V modem
I've had my Netgear CM2050V modem for nearly a year now. It was at the time, and remains, the only modem that gives mid-tier speeds (I pay for 1200 down/200 up) and I've never received received the advertised upload speed. Comcast said early this year that it would soon to roll out a firmware update for this modem to deliver the higher upload speed. BTW, this is the only modem that advertises the high speeds with voice capability.
So nearly a year later and I still do not receive the advertised upload speed. When will Comcast roll out the firmware update? Why is there so little news on this issue? Does anyone know what's going on?

Thank you for reaching out to us here @bobk4. Due to technical issues encountered when it was approved, the CM2050V was removed from the list of eligible devices to receive our enhanced upload speeds. Our engineers are working to resolve the firmware issue, but we have not been given an updated timeline on that.

The CM2050V is not compatible with the new higher upload speeds.
Realize that although Comcast calls some devices "Compatible" and some "Recommended", for all but a few devices those designations only mean "compatible/recommended for use with their Internet service", and not necessarily compatible with the new speeds.
Only a few retail devices are compatible. See the "All Compatible Devices" link near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices (at the moment it points to https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2024.09.18%20Full%20List%20of%20Compatible%20Devices.pdf, but this changes from time to time). Then see the "Next Gen" list at the top of that PDF for retail devices compatible with the new higher upload speeds. Also see the additional requirements on:
For faster upload you need one of Comcast's newer rental gateways (XB6, XB7, XB8) or one of the few retail devices shown in the "Next Gen Speed Tier" group with an upload speed rating in the "All Compatible Devices" PDF:
The Reddit link (if they ever get the page back online) lists the approved devices as well as other requirements for faster upload speeds.
Comcast could make all of this much simpler and clearer, but they have chosen not to do so.

I have the same question. Are there any plans to get this firmware fixed ? It appears the firmware has to come from xfinity per Netgear's website

Comcast/Xfinity delivers firmware to customer devices, but they don't write it. Equipment vendors write the firmware for their devices. Comcast/Xfinity tests it and, if it tests OK, they send it out. If they find a problem they report it to the vendor who must then make corrections.
The problem that is keeping the CM2050V off the "NextGen" list happened about a year ago. Neither Comcast/Xfinity nor Netgear has indicated when it might be fixed or even if it will be fixed, except for vague "we're working on it" statements. You would think that, 12 months later, more would have been accomplished.
