Netgear CM2050V Cable Modem - Using Second Ethernet Port

I have an AT&T CellBooster that is a fem2cell to provide cell phone coverage in my house.  Unfortunately, the nearest tower provides too weak of a signal inside my house.

I would like to bypass my router and local network if possible and hook the CellBooster directly into my cable modem.  Is it possible to do this with my router connected to the 2.5G ethernet port and the CellBooster connected to the 1G ethernet port of the CM2050V?  Will this function properly?

Are you sure you have a CM2050V?  I have one and it only has a 2.5Gb port + 2 RJ11 analog phone jacks.

Either way the answer is no if unless maybe you can get that set up on a Comcast business account.  Why do you want to bypass the router and local network?

You can only use one ethernet port on a modem with Comcast residential service unless you have a modem and a router that both support link aggregation (LACP, etc.).  If both support it they can split the load over both ports, though there are a couple of caveats.  Usually a single tcp stream can only use one connection, so downloading a single large file will be limited to 1Gb when using 2+ 1Gb ports.  Some versions of load balancing balance load on a per host basis, so you might need multiple client machines to get more than 1Gb of total throughput.  Another caveat is Comcast won't certify a modem for an Internet speed faster than the fastest single ethernet port on the device.

You'd need a different public/routable IP address for each device plugged into a modem with multiple ports and residential service only allows one IP address.  It might be possible if you had a business account since you can get multiple IPs on a business account.  I'm not sure about that.

You know, I assumed it had 2 ports like the S33.  It's definitely a CM2050V.  It's in the basement in my network cabinet.  I don't even use the telephony with it (I have an old AT&T POTS copper line).  I only got the 2050V because the 2000 was out of stock.

Only reason I wanted to bypass the router is to not take down cell service when I upgrade firmware of the router, reboot network, etc.  It takes a while for the CellBooster to register with AT&T and provide cell service after I reboot my network or upgrade firmware.

Sounds like it's not a big deal then, and if you really need to make a call while the Internet & cell phone stuff is rebooting you've still got an old fashioned copper POTs line.  I have Comcast voice service and FWIW a CM2050V comes back up really fast compared to anything else I've ever used on Comcast service, but still not as fast as an old school POTs line that never goes down in the first place for a modem reboot.  Voice and internet are only down for a couple minutes if I reboot my CM2050V.
