Netgear CAX80 and Gigabit X2

I have subscribed to the Gigabit X2 service (2100 down, 300 up). At the home I have the cable going into a Netgear CAX80 (latest firmware, wireless radios are off) which then goes into a Ubiquiti Dream Machine.

The Netgear CAX80 is on the list of 'Recommended Devices' provided by Xfinity. I use a Mac Studio plugged into the ethernet port of a hardwired Ubiquiti In Wall HD unit. My download speeds are as expected given the equipment I have (my Ubiquiti In Wall HD only provide Gb ethernet), but my upload speed is capped at 40 Mbps. Why is the upload speed not achieving anywhere near the advertised amount when I am using equipment that Xfinity explicitly defines as a 'recommended device?'

The CAX80 is not compatible with their new Next Gen / mid-split /enhanced upload speeds. These are the only third-party / retail purchased devices that are currently compatible;

As are their XB6, XB7, and XB8 rented gateway devices.

So that means they shut off any possible upload speed above 40 mpbs?

I guess when I read 'recommended device' i thought they meant... recommended device.

That modem doesn't have the required circuitry / firmware to be able to work with their new system upgrades for the new Next Gen / enhanced upload speeds, so it defaults to using a slower upload speed configuration / bootfile.

Hi Ozgur1, thank you for reaching out and sharing your post here on our community. @EG is right on the money regarding your modem's compatibility with our Next Gen speeds. Would you like to add an Xfinity gateway to start getting the most out of your speed tier? Our gateways are optimized for our networks, and also have a built in router.
