Neighbors using Wifi
New neighbors have moved in and some how gotten onto my network. I have since changed the password and the network name after completing a hard reset. I have also hidden the network. The neighbors are still accessing my network even though I have done all of this and paused their access. How can I prevent this and protect my network?

I am sorry to say. no one is stealing anything. Xfinity; aka Comcast allows access to your / their modem to anyone with an Xfinity account. You need to set this access to your modem to off. Otherwise anyone with Xfinity username password will be allowed in.

FWIW, your private home network WiFi, and the additional public WiFi hot spot that your gateway broadcasts are two completely separate networks. Just because the public hotspot can be accessed does not mean that your password-protected private home network can be accessed.

Yes I agree, FWIU a hot spot does not allow access to your home network but it is using your connectivity. This does not mean there is not other nefarious activities going on. I feel safer with mine off.

FWIW, the public hotspot is a separate and dedicated service flow / bandwidth allocation from the modem. It does not affect or reduce the private service flow / allocation.
