Need to Reprovision Modem
I had a minor outage early in the morning. Now Wi-Fi won't connect to my mobile, so I thought re-provisioning might be a way to go.
The Xfinity "Assistant" is useless, as there is no human attached on the other end of the chat. I am not interested buying add-ons.
All I need to know is how to re-provision my modem. Apparently that's too much to ask of the "Assistant"
PLEASE, HELP.

Is this Xfinity rental hardware, or something else? If something else, a model number would help.
There was a problem a while back where for whatever undisclosed reason (no technical explanation was given), Xfinity gateways couldn't communicate to get their config from the database upstream and broke WiFi for everyone. Can any other wireless device connect? If not, pull the power cord, wait a minute to erase volatile memory, and plug it back in. Perhaps that will force a config download. It's a wonky arrangement in the first place.
If that doesn't work, or if other devices can currently connect, try forgetting the WiFi connection on the mobile, then try to reconnect if you haven't tried that already.

Hello, @user_60ff92 if your modem is already activated asking the Xfinity Assistant to re-provision the modem may not work. I recommend asking the Assistant to reset the modem or using the Xfinity app to make sure the modem is online. You can go to Wi-Fi and then Troubleshoot from the Xfinity app to run a diagnostic check on your system.

Call 1 800 comcast and if you do manage to get a live rep on the line, ask them to completely remove the modem from your account and to re-provision it from scratch. Also, ask them to confirm that the provisioning and the backend account data in their database is correct and complete and that the correct configuration / bootfile is being pushed to the modem. Good luck !
