Need to connect to 2.4 ghz

I bought a thermostat and it requires connection via 2.4 GHz.  I have an xb7 modem and apparently the connection isn’t working. I have signal strength.  Any suggestion

Not sure if this applies anymore. YMMV.

The two WiFi bands SSID's have been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined SSID's.

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 names and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the devices with the new 2.4 SSID (broadcast name) and password. Good luck !

@user_2598a3 Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. It looks like @EG provided you some solid tips on how to connect your device. Have you already tried their suggestion?

I followed these instructs - I have an XB8 router - I can log in to the router and see both the 2.4 and 5.0 bands - but it will not allow me to edit the names, or edit anything actually.  Since so many non-computer devices need this 2.4 connection, this ‘streamlining’ is very frustrating for customers.  Help - how do I get my printer on line?

Disregard - I changed my settings to WPA2 to accommodate my devices.  Would love to have had this idea spelled out somewhere.
