Need to change a channel in the "Private Wi-Fi Network Configuration (2.4 GHz)" located in Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi > Edit 2.4 GHz

Inside the Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi > Edit 2.4 GHz, the configuration is grayed out on my gateway,

Its my admin tool, why can I see the configuration, but its grayed out?(I cant select anything, cant interact with checkboxes)

I followed this guide to see if I am able to change the channel, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi

The guide does say that for my Model XB7 there should be no option to edit the settings via the app, but than what am i supposed to do?

Using the XFinity App, I only have the option to split into 2.4 and 5 GHz, there is no option to select a channel. And there also no options to edit the whole configuration that I see on my Gateway, I want to be able to have a whole access to my own gateway.

Is there anyway for me to gain ability to edit a channel on my device? Its Xb7-t Carrier Comcast Modem + Wifi Wireless Router Modem

user_p91m3m With that advanced gateway settings of the device making it as secure as possible, you wouldn't be able to split the WiFi signals into 2 seperate names anymore. The advanced security function inside the gateway prevents you from being able to manually change it, and I appologize but there is no way to override this options.

@XfinityEricB Does xfinity have any gateways of about the same cost range that allow to change advanced settings? Or can support change it manually from their side? One of the laptops here cant use the network, because it needs the network to be on a different channel from the default one.

Great question, the modem lease fee is the same for all of our devices. The gateways that still allow the 2.4 or 5.0 choice do not support higher speeds.

The concern is not "accessibility / disability" help related. Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.
