Need my router ar 2 4 ghz

My WiFi gateway was replaced this year. Apparently is it uses 5 Ghz. Every fall, I connect a device that requires 2.4 Ghz service. All connection attempts fail. I have even tried moving outside the 5 Ghz range but still fail.

It appears the new gateway manages Ghz setting automatically and I cannot make any changes.

What are my options to successfully connect this device?

Thanks for meeting us here in our community about your WiFi configuration, @user_hcs4gq. We can help. Did you replace your modem with the XB8? If so, to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks on your XB8, you need to use the Xfinity app or the Admin Tool. In the Xfinity app, sign in, select **WiFi**, then **View WiFi equipment**, and go to **Advanced settings**. From there, you can edit the WiFi bands. Alternatively, access the Admin Tool by connecting to your WiFi, visiting 10.0.0.1, and signing in. Navigate to **Gateway > Connection > WiFi** to change the channel selection for each band.
