Need help choosing an unmanaged switch to extend my cabled network.

As the title says, I need help extending my cabled network. We have an XB8-T gateway and I need help extending my cabled network. The Gateway is in our livingroom, but our entertainment center is in the back of the appartment, I need to extend our network via cables, but I would like to know which unmanaged switch or brand would be compatible in order to get the best possible speed in our PCs, gaming consoles and streaming devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While we completely understand what you are wanting to know, we are not able to recommend a specific brand since we do not endorse any one hardware manufacturer over another. Your best bet is to do your research and go from there. The only compatibility we would have anything to do with is the modem itself; when it comes to routers or other pieces of hardware that can be used, we don't have any insight. Other users who see this post may be able to give you some suggestions to lean on.

I would suggest something with two 2.5ghz ports. There are many available on Amazon etc. I have a TRENDnet 7-Port Multi-Gig Gaming Switch which is auto switching on the 2.5ghz. The red port on the back of the XB8 is the 2.5 mhz port which I run to the switch as X-Class needs a 2.5ghz to get the speed wired at over 1.3Gbps. Just remember that you get what you pay for.
