Need 160MHZ Bandwith Available to me

This is driving me absolutely crazy. I used to be able to modify my channel and width settings, but for some reason Xfinity decided to "Auto-Tune" the settings and not allow us to change them anymore and its driving me up the wall because i have an EDup 3200Mbit PCI-X controller that used to connect at 1.7Gbit and get 1085/41 speedtests and now I can get the thing to go over a 400mbit speedtestr because the "auto-Tune set my channel bandwith to 80mhz auto instead of 160mhz auto. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS. I work from home and transfer large files back and forth from work and need my full gigabit speed. my laptop direct connected get 1000 speed test all day, but my main work machine is not possible to have a cable run to it.

I have a Xfinity Arris TG442 AX6 router.

Not sure if this works anymore. It is a year old. They are constantly changing things..... YMMV. Give it a shot;

So your laptop is direct connected, it's gets 1000 Mbps, so your work computer uses WiFi because it can't be connected via Ethernet cable, I am assuming it's probably not close to the gateway, so the farther away from the gateway your WiFi device is the slower the speed will be, I have the Xb7, I can get roughly 1500 Mbps via Ethernet cable, yet my iPhone 12 using WiFi 6 only achieves approximately 750 Mbps, so you could possibly be expecting to much from your connection, I have experimented with different bandwidth settings, I have found out more isn't necessarily better, in fact it can be detrimental to your WiFi speed, your environment plays a big factor in it, example, I was doing extensive testing on all the possibilities of all the options in my gateway, so this particular combination of settings I was using 40 bandwidth setting, I was getting roughly 600 Mbps, so I moved it up to the 80 bandwidth setting, immediately my speed dropped to less then 200 Mbps, I moved it back to the 40 bandwidth setting and my speed was restored to the 600 Mbps mark, just some of my observations

@EG when I got my Xb7, I didn't use the Xfi app to install it, i in fact when to the Xfinity store to pick it up, I told them to activate it there, she scanned the barcode and said, here you go, I went home, hooked it up, it booted up, I was online, plus I had full access to the admin panel, so your post could possibly work

It was downloading at 1058/41 before the XFI firmware update it recived. its not a distance issue.

unfortunately with XFI you have to have them activate the equipment to get the unlimited data plan (AKA slow you down so you dont use to much is my thought on this)

The channel mode is AUTO-Tuning to 80MHZ. not 160MHZ.

This exact problem.

Why am I no longer able to view/change some advanced settings?

If you don't see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi settings (WiFi Mode, Channel Selection, and Channel Mode) in Advanced Settings, this means these settings are now being managed automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible.

Ok, for instance, I mentioned environment before, so if your neighbors are maybe using the same WiFi channel as you, maybe have their router set to a high bandwidth, so in this case you would want to set your bandwidth low, change channel if you can, otherwise it can overlap with your neighbors WiFi, that could be detrimental to speed and performance, so you see higher is not always better,

well yes it's unfortunate you can't manually adjust settings anymore

@nzimmer1  oki understand what you saying, I don't use the Xfi app at all, I have access to all the settings
