Near-total packet drop at Ashburn Backbone (96.110.37.118)

THIS IS NOT ABOUT MY HOME NETWORK IT IS ABOUT YOUR DATA CENTER BUT THERE WERE NO BETTER CATEGORIES OR TOPICS TO CHOOSE FROM :)

I have been experiencing a near-total packet drop the moment my data tries to leave Comcast’s "Beaumeade" hub to get to the "Ashburn" gateway. I will provide the trace below. I have been experiencing this latency for the last week with a noticeable improvement on Saturday afternoon but then returning Sunday.

I have followed all of the local troubleshooting guides and can ensure you that this is an issue which is out of my control. This is a backbone routing issue at the Ashburn/Beaumeade peering point. I have talked to 3 separate techs the last of which was at least kind enough to not put me through the insanity that is xfinity hired tech support asking me to restart my modem to fix an issue in Virginia.

Please notify the networking team to take a look at the hop. I am willing to fill out an employment application to fix it myself if that will get this escalated!

Specifically, look at the jump between Hop 8 and Hop 9:
