NBA League Pass Detecting Proxy - No VPN INstalled

I subscribe to NBA league pass, which doesn't allow the use of proxies or VPNs due to its geolocation requirements. The app is consistently blocking access to content becasue it claims there is a proxy on my network even though I do not have a proxy or vpn active; it works on data and other wifi networks, just not my xfinity wifi. What causes this, and is there a solution?

@user_n4gnes Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since you're paying for the service and it works everywhere except your home Wi-Fi! I understand how annoying it is to deal with technical blocks when you aren't doing anything wrong.

The most likely cause is that your Xfinity IP address is being mistakenly flagged as a VPN/proxy service by the League Pass geolocation database. This happens when an ISP's block of IP addresses gets blacklisted.

Here are two quick solutions to try:

  1. Force a new IP: Unplug your Xfinity modem/router for 10 minutes, then plug it back in. This often forces the ISP to assign you a new, unflagged IP.

  2. Contact Support: If that fails, please contact the NBA League Pass support team. Provide them with your current public IP address and ask them to whitelist it.

I hope one of these steps gets you back to watching the games quickly!
