My modem is online but app is saying that my modem is offline

I am trying to upgrade my Gateway from the old model to a new one.  It says that I am connected on my computer but the app says offline.  The internet name is xfinity setup still as I cannot change it.  I have been on chat support three times and they are unable to help me.  Has anyone found a solution?  I read other posts and tried those ways listed to remedy the problem but it did not work.

user_skardq Welcome to our community forum! You have reached the perfect place to get help activating your Xfinity Gateway. Since you already tried setting up the modem through the Xfinity app, I want to check your account and make sure everything looks good on this side of things :).
Please send a direct message to Xfinity Support by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Include your name and address in the body of the message so I can find your account and get started on a resolution.
